Fuck ICE. Fuck anyone who works for ICE. Fuck anyone who supports or defends ICE. We want ICE out of our communities.
We posted a link to our anti-ICE sticker and flyer downloads a few days ago, after the murder of Renee Good but before the murder of Alex Pretti. The Department of Homeland Security and the President lied shamelessly, as they did with Good, to paint Pretti as a violent domestic terrorist. Meanwhile anyone with an internet connection saw in 4K the unhinged ICE agent rampaging and emptying a clip into an innocent man’s body.
Pretti was a nurse who worked with veterans. His family, friends, and co-workers have come forward with story after story of Pretti’s compassion and strong sense of justice. His last act as a living person was to protect two women from masked ICE agents who were assaulting them.
ICE’s ethnic cleansing campaign has systematically targeted people with Black and brown skin in hopes of bringing them maximum humiliation and suffering.
Most white folks have been content to ignore the brutality and terror of ICE (which has only existed since 2003) since it typically doesn’t get too close to them. But the brutality of a police state has always been creeping closer the longer we’ve failed to lance the boil of white supremacy culture in the U.S.
Now we are at the stage of this infection where the white folks who stand up for people of color are considered un-American. After all, you lose your claim to whiteness when you begin to reject its inherent privileges or use them to challenge racist structures.
The federal government labels anyone who stands up to their tyranny as domestic terrorists undeserving of the First, Second, or Fourth Amendments. This is why they clap when they unload a clip into an innocent man’s body.
The law means nothing when wielded by people living the inverted reality of malignant narcissists and cult adherents.
Every one of us must unify against this authoritarian threat. ICE must be abolished and every person associated with ICE held accountable, prosecuted, and put in prison or whatever is necessary to ensure this never happens again.
